About

This is an interactive application showing the long-term conditions which develop amongst individuals following a heart attack. The high-resolution data-driven model uses 145 million hospitalisation records in England over a decade to help better understand the patterns and likelihood of multiple long-term health conditions for survivors of a heart attack. Directed edges between ICD-10 chapter headings represent progression from one diagnosis to the next. Edge colours and widths are proportional to the number of individuals that progress between diagnoses. Disease trajectories from all individuals within the MI cohort (n=375,669) and matched control cohort (n=1,878,345) are used to construct the networks.
